Sri Lanka Design Festival Stall

The stall was designed to cover more than 600 square meters and showcased the final year students’ work during the Sri Lanka Design Festival in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

 

The concept behind the stall was to identify the main areas for each department and integrate them through a light line and a large visual display. A key challenge in the design process was understanding the students’ requirements for the exhibits they would present during the event.

 

To address this challenge, we designed a corrugated sheet system that allowed students the flexibility to hang their exhibits while providing a structured framework to organise the space effectively. As part of the program offered by AOD and Northumbria University, students were required to display their final major projects to the audience.

 

This provided them with exposure at the country’s main design fair. As a result, many students were hired as freelancers or collaborated with relevant firms in the industry.
